Dr. Charlene Underhill Miller is a licensed marriage and family therapist, professor, clinical supervisor, and public speaker. In practice since 1984, Dr. Miller frequently offers case consultations to fellow professionals and provides workshops for schools, churches, and other organizations.
An adjunct faculty member at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education & Psychology, Dr. Miller also has taught at Fuller Theological Seminary’s School of Psychology and Azusa Pacific University’s Graduate School of Psychology.
With MA and PhD degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller’s School of Psychology, Dr. Miller also holds a BA degree in psychology from UCLA. Dr. Miller’s doctoral dissertation investigated the role of therapy in recovering from sexual abuse.
Dr. Miller is associated with Pepperdine’s Boone Center for the Family and is a founding member of Pepperdine’s Friends of the Family League. She serves on the Advisory Committee of Helpguide.org as well as the Board of Directors of Major Family Services, an organization which focuses on parenting education and parental alienation. A wife, mother, and stepmother, Dr. Miller provides leadership in local schools and in family ministry in local churches. She has also served as an on-screen mental health expert on A&E Network’s top-rated television program Hoarders.
